I think the goal was to sell more Maximas. I'm pretty sure that didn't work.

I like the sunroof. It's unique and always reminded me of Spyker or Koenigsegg. Even if it's a sunroof and not the rear, the general placement is close enough and it made it look quite a bit more modern. Imagine how bland that picture would look with a plain sunroof.

It's is hard to imagine a picture of a unmodified Maxima not being bland.

I think that was for the 06 year, and then in 07 they changed the front grill a bit (looked awful in 06), added a black rear valence type thing in the back, changed the sun roof, and freshened up the interior.

07 was a way better year (aesthetically, anyway) than 06 for the Maxima.
